Date #3: Eggscellent Cafe
Great day everyone!! Today we’re sharing a great little breakfast & lunch joint called Eggscellent Cafe!
The Shadow is really great at researching and finding little places that we can try and he is always mindful of my eating restrictions. When he found this little cafe, I was like sure, let’s give it a whirl!
As We Entered, Pretty Cool Atmosphere……
As soon as we walked in, we could tell that it was going to be a cool place. Just take a look at some of the decor they have!
I hate to say it but I think I want to hang stools on our walls now too 🙈 Lol
One thing we will say is that even though this was an open environment, it wasn’t loud. We thought it would be louder but it wasn’t so that’s good. It really sucks when you’re sitting across from someone and you can’t have a decent conversation with them because it’s loud so thankfully we didn’t experience this here!

Lol! But really though, it was! Or so that’s what he told us 😅
Jal was really friendly and helpful with the menu which was great since it was our first time there.
He recommended the Bandido Scrambler as I like spicy food and I was looking for a skillet breakfast.
Jal also mentioned that they opened with only a couple of staff and they have been so busy that they have had to hire an additional crew to keep up! That is great to hear, especially in Las Vegas with so many food options!
What Kind Of Food Is Served?
This is a breakfast and lunch cafe and they have your normal American Cafe food. And, might we add, a whole lot of choices too!

What Did We Order?
Starting off with drinks, I decided on an unsweetened ice tea and The Shadow had a tomato juice with Tabasco….bleh Lol I’m not a fan of tomato juice but I’m happy they had it there for him!
After Jal recommended the Bandido, I read the description and I was sold. I mean it has Chorizo and poblano peppers and jalapenos and cheese on it, hello??!! YUM! 💁
I was really hungry and since I don’t eat eggs, I added chicken to the scrambler and then I had their breakfast potatoes with it as well.
The Shadow had biscuits and gravy with two sunny-side-up eggs. Doesn’t his plates look fantastic!?
How Was The Food At Eggscellent Cafe?
We both have to say that it was a really nice breakfast! It’s everything you expect breakfast to taste like and for us, that’s always a good thing!
The Shadow says “the biscuits were flaky and not dry and the gravy was good.” Also, “the eggs were really tasty and not greasy”. You can definitely tell that from the photo, they look great!
As for mine, it was super tasty! I really liked the mash-up of chorizo with peppers and chicken. It all had a nice flavor. The potatoes were huge too! I’m a sucker for potatoes Lol 🥔

What Was The Cost Of Our Meal?
So let’s recap what all we had:
- Coffee
- Tomato Juice
- Unsweetened Iced Tea
- Biscuits & Gravy
- 2 Eggs
- Bandido Skillet
- Added Chicken
Our total was approximately $27.75 before taxes and tip. We got out the door for right at $40 as we generally give a 20% tip where we go.
In our opinion, not bad! For two people, a great friendly atmosphere and time spent with each other, it was perfect 💑
Where Is Eggscellent Cafe Located?
This is an off the strip restaurant that is located at 2534 E Desert Inn Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89121.
It’s approximately 4 miles away from the strip so definitely not too far to grab an Uber and head there for what we think was some great food at reasonable prices!
What Hours Is The Cafe Open?
At the time of this post, they are open 7 days a week from 7am-3pm.
We went in the morning on a Saturday and while it was pretty full with customers, it didn’t feel overly crowded and our service definitely didn’t suffer!
Is It Kid Friendly?
While we didn’t see a kid-specific section on the menu, this cafe is definitely kid-friendly.
You could order a few a la carte items for them, or ask your waiter/waitress if they have a kid’s menu.
Maybe I missed a coloring opportunity here? 😫 Lol who doesn’t like to color?

A little unknown secret about The Sunshine…..I like to check out the bathrooms to see if there are any cool pictures or decor to take photos of! 📸
I’m happy to say that there were some cute photos in there! Check out the 2 below, aren’t they pretty!?
I like the vintage style pink and yellow in the buildings and that pink door on a white building is super cute! (The Shadow said no to a pink door 🤨 Lol Just Kidding!)
And, just to add, the bathrooms were very clean and were stocked with everything we needed.
Our Review Of Eggscellent Cafe
The Sunshine: I really liked this cafe and I am looking forward to going back. You know those little joints you like to go for a meal you know will be good? Yeah, that’s how I see Eggscellent Cafe. Everyone was really friendly and the food was good. There are many choices which can accommodate most eating styles which is great for me!
It was fun to look at everything on the walls and Jal made the experience enjoyable as well 😊
The Shadow: There was a nice spacing with the tables so it didn’t feel crowded and you could still walk through without hitting anyone’s chairs, which is always nice. Also, the noise level was low for such an open place.
While I don’t particularly care for sports, they did have that playing on the TV so for anyone that does want to watch you can.
The decor was cool and eclectic and the staff was friendly. I’d definitely go again and I’d recommend this cafe as a good place to try.
In Conclusion…..
We would eat here again and we would recommend it to others to try out as well! It’s a really great, relaxing joint to stop by and grab a good bite to eat.
If you’re staying on the Las Vegas Strip during your visit, this is a great way to save money and feed the family.
